Creativity Saturday: “Let your art howl. The right people will hear it.”

Sometimes the most powerful art is quiet… until it isn’t. Today’s craft is subtle but striking: Moon Phase Painted Stones. Perfect for decorating shelves, altars, or even gifting to a fellow night-sky admirer.

You’ll Need

  • Smooth flat stones (found or bought)
  • Acrylic paint (black + white)
  • Small paintbrushes
  • Cup of water & paper towel for cleanup

Instructions

  1. Prep Your Canvas: Wash and dry your stones so paint will adhere.
  2. Base Coat: Paint each stone black and let dry completely.
  3. Add the Moon: Use white paint to create each phase of the moon — from new moon to full moon — across separate stones.
  4. Seal (Optional): Use a clear spray sealant for extra durability.

Why I Love This D.I.Y.

It’s meditative, striking, and connects you to the lunar cycle. Plus, each stone becomes a tiny piece of night sky you can hold in your hand.
