There’s a certain kind of magic in making something with your hands — even if it’s imperfect, a little crooked, or covered in too much glue. In fact, that’s when it feels the most real. Today’s little project is simple, quick, and just the right amount of weird: Pressed-Flower Bookmarks.
They’re beautiful, functional, and a perfect excuse to preserve petals, leaves, or bits of nature you’ve collected along your moonlit walks.
You’ll Need
- Pressed flowers or leaves (press in a heavy book for at least a week)
- Cardstock or bookmark-sized paper
- Clear contact paper or laminating sheets
- Scissors
- Hole punch & ribbon (optional)
Instructions
- Arrange the Magic: Lay your pressed flowers on the cardstock in any design you like. Messy is fine — magic doesn’t follow straight lines.
- Seal the Spell: Carefully place clear contact paper over both sides, pressing firmly to seal.
- Trim & Finish: Cut away any excess plastic. If you want, punch a hole in the top and add a ribbon.
Why I Love This D.I.Y
Every bookmark feels like a little bottled spell. No two will ever be the same, and the imperfections are part of the charm. Plus, they make hauntingly lovely gifts for your fellow bookworms.
